Toronto CityPASS: a three-day family itinerary
Five admissions, three workable days and enough breathing room to keep the trip from becoming a checklist.
One anchor pairing each day. No points for exhaustion.

Before you copy the route
Use the itinerary to test the pass—not to justify it.
Toronto CityPASS includes CN Tower and Ripley’s Aquarium, then lets you choose three of ROM, City Cruises, Casa Loma, Toronto Zoo and AGO. This route works only when these five visits were already welcome in your trip.
Pair two attractions only when geography makes the pairing easy. Otherwise, give one admission the whole day and use the nine-day window instead of racing the clock.
Reservation sequence
Book the hard constraints before the nice-to-haves.
Attraction requirements can change. CityPASS currently directs ticket holders to My CityPASS for planning and lists timed reservations for several Toronto attractions. Confirm every requirement again immediately after purchase.
- 01
Choose your three flexible attractions first
CN Tower and Ripley’s Aquarium are fixed. This route uses Royal Ontario Museum, Casa Loma and City Cruises Toronto as the three choices.
- 02
Reserve the timed visits before filling the gaps
CityPASS currently lists reservations for CN Tower, ROM, City Cruises and AGO. Use My CityPASS after purchase and confirm the latest requirements there.
- 03
Keep every day inside the nine-day window
This plan uses three consecutive days, but the ticket allows more room. Spread it over four days when your family needs a slower pace.
The route
Ripley’s Aquarium + CN Tower
Start with the easiest pairing: two fixed CityPASS admissions beside each other, with one timed entry and almost no travel between them.
- 01Late morning
Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada
Begin indoors and leave enough time for the moving walkway, galleries and any child-led stops. Do not schedule the tower too tightly behind it.
- 02Reset
Lunch + Roundhouse Park
Use a genuine break between admissions. A short outdoor pause is more valuable than squeezing in another paid stop.
- 03Late afternoon
CN Tower
Book the timed admission after the aquarium. Late afternoon gives the day a clear finish without requiring an early family start.
Keep at least 60–90 minutes between your expected aquarium finish and the CN Tower reservation.
The route
ROM + Casa Loma
Use two of the three flexible choices on a culture day. They are close enough to pair, but different enough to avoid making the day feel like one long museum visit.
- 01Morning
Royal Ontario Museum
Reserve an earlier arrival and choose two or three priority galleries before entering. A complete-building mission is rarely a good family plan.
- 02Reset
Lunch near Bloor Street
Eat before moving north. The break separates the museum from the castle and prevents transit from becoming the only rest period.
- 03Afternoon
Casa Loma
Allow time for the main rooms, tunnels and grounds, then end the paid schedule. Confirm current entry details before leaving the ROM area.
If ROM is the main reason for the trip, move Casa Loma to a fourth day instead of rushing the galleries.
The route
City Cruises + an open waterfront afternoon
Finish with the third flexible choice and deliberately leave the rest of the day unbundled. The pass is already fully used after the cruise.
- 01Before leaving
Check the sailing and weather
Confirm the meeting point, arrival time and operating notice in My CityPASS and with City Cruises. Waterfront conditions can change the feel of the day.
- 02Reserved time
City Cruises Toronto
Arrive early enough for check-in. Treat the harbour tour as the day’s anchor rather than a short gap between several other tickets.
- 03Afterward
Harbourfront at your own pace
Use the islands, parks or a simple meal as optional time. None of it needs to justify the CityPASS purchase.
Do not add another paid attraction merely because the cruise is shorter than the previous two days.
Make the route resilient
Three swaps are smarter than forcing the original plan.
Swap City Cruises for AGO
The Art Gallery of Ontario creates an indoor third day. It currently appears among the CityPASS choices and may require a reservation, so change the plan before booking all timed visits.
Swap the cruise for Toronto Zoo
Give the Zoo its own full day and use the practical packing guide before leaving. This is the highest-effort route, but the cleanest choice for a family that genuinely wants the Zoo.
Open the Zoo packing guideUse four days instead
The ticket’s nine-day use window is flexibility, not a challenge. Separate ROM and Casa Loma or move the cruise to a weather-friendly day.
A successful CityPASS trip is not the one that fills every hour. It is the one where all five admissions still look like good choices after transportation, reservations, weather and your family’s real energy are included.
