Toronto pilotIndependent pass decisions for GTA families

How PASS.ca works

A score you can question.

The PASS Score is a 100-point decision framework for attraction passes and memberships. It combines cost with the restrictions and real-life details that determine whether a pass is genuinely useful.

The framework

Value leads. Fine print still counts.

A high score requires more than a low headline price. The pass must deliver useful access, reasonable terms and enough evidence for a family to act with confidence.

01

40 points

Value

Does the pass save money for a realistic visitor?

We calculate an admission break-even point using current public prices, then test common household scenarios. We separate reliable savings from benefits that only matter if they are actually used.

02

20 points

Flexibility

Can members use it when and how they expect?

We review validity dates, blackout dates, reservation rules, location access, transferability, renewal commitments and cancellation terms.

03

20 points

Benefits

Do the included extras create practical value?

Parking, guest tickets, discounts, events and reciprocal access count when their terms are clear. We do not give full credit to vague or highly conditional benefits.

04

10 points

Friction

What could make ownership less convenient?

Fees, auto-renewal, complicated redemption, mobile-app requirements and important exclusions reduce the score when they are likely to affect the purchase decision.

05

10 points

Confidence

How strong and current is the evidence?

Current official product pages and governing terms receive the most weight. Every published check is dated, linked to sources and reviewed again when material details change.

Editorial standards

What keeps the recommendation honest.

01

Primary sources first

We favour official pricing pages, program terms and membership agreements over summaries or promotional claims.

02

Every check is dated

A score is a snapshot, not a permanent promise. The review date shows when prices and restrictions were last verified.

03

Commercial separation

Providers cannot buy a score or verdict. Affiliate links are labelled clearly, and commissions never change a PASS Score or recommendation.

04

Corrections stay open

Readers and attraction teams can send updated official information to hello@pass.ca for review.
